Chief Connolly has been a steadfast advocate for treatment and recovery. He has worked tirelessly both in the Sanford community and in Augusta to elevate awareness of substance use disorder as a healthcare issue. He secured hrant money and funded treatment for dozens of individuals in the Sanford area.

Mike was formerly the Chief of Police in Portland. a member of Governor LePage’s Opioid Task Force and was responsible for securing grant funding to treat uninsured patients in the Portland area. Mike is a member of the recently formed Police, Treatment and Community Collaborative dedicated to policy reform, specifically involving diversion and deflection.
