Society for Neuroscience satellite meeting explores notable research in addiction ranging from data science to early life adversity impact on substance use disorders to opioid receptor function and pain

2018 NIDA-NIAAA Mini-Convention: Frontiers in Addiction Research

What: The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), both part of the National Institutes of Health, will host a one-day mini convention, a satellite event of the 2018 Society for Neuroscience annual meeting. Researchers will present information on new tools to study data in the addiction research field, the impact of early life adversity on brain circuitry and substance use disorders as well as interactions between opioid receptor function in addiction and pain.

Why: Scientists from around the world explore and discuss the latest research in the field of addiction neuroscience.

When: Friday, November 2, 2018
8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. PDT

Where: San Diego Convention Center
Room 7A-B
